DESCRIPTION:Slow down\, make your mark\, and create something beautiful to take home. \nIn this calming\, hands-on workshop\, you’ll explore the soothing power of repetitive mark-making using simple patterns and textures that help quiet the mind and spark creativity. \nYou’ll start with guided exercises to loosen up\, then transfer your favourite marks onto easy-carve foam blocks to create your own custom print. \nIt’s all about getting into the flow\, letting go of stress\, and walking away with a piece of art that reminds you to breathe\, slow down\, and stay grounded. \nArtist: Laura Strange \nWellbeing benefits:\nCalming\, repetitive movement reduces stress\, encourages focus and mindfulness and can support emotional regulation. \nAligning with Queensland Mental Health Week\, Creative & Connected is a series of free creative workshops to brighten your day. DESCRIPTION:A bold and bright workshop where words\, colour\, composition and (reasonable) optimism combine. \nOriginally born as a creative coping gesture from Claudio Kirac during the 2020 lockdowns\, to share hopeful messages without the toxic positivity\, this series has evolved into a hands-on workshop to create your own set of postcards using mixed media (like Posca pens\, tape\, stenciling and hand lettering). \nKeep ‘em as personal pick-me-ups\, swap them with others\, or send them out into the world to brighten someone’s day. \nArtists: Claudio Kirac & Michelle Le Plastrier \nWellbeing Benefits:\nThe simple act of putting a positive message into words has been shown to lift mood and counter negative self-talk. \nAligning with Queensland Mental Health Week\, Creative & Connected is a series of free creative workshops to brighten your day.
