Thanks to the support of COTA Queensland and Queensland Government, Seniors on Safari are travelling by bus to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, 40km north of Cairns, on the spectacular route known as The Great Barrier Reef Drive and is surrounded by the UNESCO listed Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.
Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures is one of the longest established and now the largest wildlife attraction in Northern Australia. Nestled in the picturesque Wangetti Valley, in the heart of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, we will be taken on a journey of discovery into the ‘wild’ world of Australian native and exotic animals including; a cruise on Hartley’s Lagoon spotting crocodiles and other wildlife in a natural melaleuca wetland lagoon; cassowaries in a rare riverine rainforest; kangaroos and emus in an expansive woodland; free flight predatory birds; iconic marsupials like koalas and wombats; plus the sustainable crocodile farm.
Lunch will then be served with the crocodiles! Lilies Restaurant overlooks the superb lagoon wetlands, the ideal location for a leisurely lunch and some croc watching.
