Oakey Free Seniors Morning Tea

A free morning tea bringing our Seniors together with time to chat with old friends or meet new friends, plus some entertainment from local entertainers and the children from our local C&K Kindergarten.

It will be catered by Oakey State High School Hospitality Students under the guidance of their Hospitality Teacher who is herself a chef. We are aiming for Intergenerational and Social Interaction. It also gives Year 11 and 12 Hospitality Students the opportunity to serve a group, who may have complex challenges, safely and respectfully. They will be assessed on this task and the Seniors will be asked for Feedback on Student Performance.’

We are planning to produce a little booklet “What’s on for Seniors around Oakey” which all guests will receive, listing activities and opportunities for volunteers in and around Oakey.
