Living healthy at home pop-up health clinic
How to stay ‘healthy at home’ is the theme of a free health pop-up clinic for older residents being held in Tin Can Bay as part of Seniors month during October.
The Old’s Cool- Health Matters team invites the community to stop by for a coffee and a chat. Local service providers will be in attendance to assist in understanding health options, such as how to navigate My Aged Care and mainstream health services. The pop-up clinic will also provide free health assessments by a registered nurse from One Bridge.
Following on from Senior’s month, a free community education workshop will be held in November. This workshop will provide practical lifestyle information on topics such as how to maintain good brain health, dealing with grief and/or how to stay independent and living in your home for longer.
The workshop and pop- bring together academic expertise and student engagement from the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Healthy Ageing Hub (based at its Gympie campus), connections through Gympie Community Place and insights from healthcare professionals from One Bridge Outreach.
Tin Can Bay pop-up clinic: Thursday 26 October at RSL Hall, 45 Gympie Road from 11am-3pm.
Tin Can Bay workshop: Details will be provided during October. Please contact UniSC for further information.
