Living healthy at home- free Senior’s event

How to stay ‘healthy at home’ is the theme of a free health pop-up for older residents being held in Imbil as part of Seniors month during October.

The Old’s Cool- Health Matters team invites the community to stop by and listen to a free health education workshop on “healthy brain ageing’ or “what’s your grief”. These workshops will provide informative and practical strategies that are based on the latest research.

The pop-up will also provide free health assessments by a registered nurse from One Bridge, and health information, such as how to navigate My Aged Care and mainstream health services.

This event brings together academic expertise and student engagement from the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Healthy Ageing Hub (based at its Gympie campus), connections through Gympie Community Place and insights from healthcare professionals from One Bridge.

Date and location:

Imbil: Wednesday 25 October at Imbil Public Hall, 10.30am- 3.30pm

Healthy brain ageing workshop: 11.00am and 1.00pm.

What’s your grief workshop: 2.00pm
