The Finance Matters for Seniors event is designed to empower older community members with the knowledge and tools they need to confidently manage their finances and protect themselves from exploitation. Hosted at the welcoming and accessible Hervey Bay Community Centre, the event will feature presentations from a range of speakers in Government, legal, financial and advocacy services

Key topics include:

– Aged pension choices, superannuation and income streams, and the Home Equity Access Scheme
– Savings for Seniors and Consumer protection for seniors
– Costs and implications of aged care, including the new aged care rules
– Scams, frauds, and digital safety

To strengthen digital inclusion, participants will also have the opportunity to book digital literacy sessions with HBNC either at the Event or as follow up sessions. All information will be delivered in clear, plain language, with translation and transport support available where needed.
