This October, the Central Highlands will come alive with a series of events to celebrate Seniors Month, running from the 1 to 31 October.
Celebrating the theme ‘Love Getting Older’, the month-long festivities will highlight the importance of embracing aging and honouring the contributions of older community members.
The highlight of the celebrations will be the popular Seniors Luncheon, set to take place on Wednesday 16 October at the Bauhinia Memorial Hall in Springsure.
From 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, guests will enjoy a day of food, entertainment, and camaraderie, with buses available to transport attendees from surrounding areas.
Seniors Month aims to promote positive attitudes toward aging while recognising the invaluable roles older Queenslanders continue to play—as volunteers, community leaders, workers, grandparents, and advocates.
It’s an opportunity to come together, share stories, and strengthen the bonds between generations.
To join the celebration or register a family member or friend for the luncheon and transport, contact council on 1300 242 686! Registration is essential to secure your place for the luncheon and bus service.
Libraries across the region are also hosting activities. Please check with your local library in the Central Highlands for details.
